The Sky is NOT the Limit Scholarship
The Paradox Collection is partnering with the Ridgecrest Lions Club and the IWV Model Rocketry Club to offer The Sky is NOT the Limit Scholarship, a $500 reimbursement award. The scholarship is designed to increase community interest in rocketry, fostering interest in college-level programs in STEM-related fields.
The scholarship is dispersed at the end of the calendar year, “paying back” the hard work of the awardee. The Lions Club will retain and disperse funds and choose the awardee from a list of applicants.
Who’s eligible?
1. Applicants must either a) have graduated from a degree program/approved certificate program from, or b) be enrolled in the fall semester at Cerro Coso.
2. Applicants must attend 2 launch events hosted by the IWV Model Rocketry Club in Calendar Year 2026. 1 hour attendance at each of two launch events is the minimum requirement.
3. There is no GPA requirement for students to apply, as proof of completion of coursework is required before disbursement.
4. Coursework must be at the Cerro Coso Community College
Who’s not eligible?
1. To prevent conflicts of interest, or the appearance of conflicts of interest, this scholarship is not open to any applicant related within three degrees by blood or marriage to any IWV Model Rocketry Club or Paradox Collection Owner or representative.
2. Concurrently enrolled high school students are not eligible.
How to apply?
IWV Model Rocketry Club will track applicants’ attendance at launches and communicate with the Ridgecrest Lions Club as to that aspect of eligibility. If selected, the applicant must provide evidence of residency in California and proof of graduation or completed coursework.
